I'm passionate about supporting people. I do that by creating supportive systems and by offering direct support in various capacities.
I am very neurodivergent and proudly consider myself to be disabled. I have lived experience of OCD, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar 2 Disorder, Skin Picking Disorder, and a Tic Disorder. I have become knowledgeable about many of these and how to navigate them, particularly OCD. Many have said they appreciate the informal peer support I offer on those fronts.
My lived experience of disability has led me to view much of it as a design problem with clear pain points and real human needs. The social model of disability has its limitations, but it also prompts a compelling question: How might we alter the environment to maximally enable disabled people? I have some ideas of how to go about that, and I'm looking for collaborators to join me in answering that question.

I whole-heartedly recommend Quentin Barth for a UX designer position. I am a cognitive scientist and have worked with and led many professional development teams. Quentin and I have collaborated almost daily for more than a year, contributing our professional skills to an online support community, hammering out details of the group’s digital interaction spaces. I find Quentin easy to work with and their contributions invaluable.
Quentin is a diligent and communicative team member. As the only designer in our group, they are humble about their extensive and ever-expanding skillset: able to engage with complex problems and willing to integrate disparate ideas. Quentin also has the welcome characteristic of seeking clarity about expectations – for themself and the team. This uncommon skill helps keep projects on track and individual contributions flowing.
As well as being a skilled designer, Quentin has a high level of self-awareness. This combination enables them to create tools and systems to efficiently accomplish goals. I am amazed at the level of personal insight coupled with succinct encapsulation that enables Quentin to create functional, efficient systems that all of us benefit from. I firmly believe that Quentin will be an asset to any development team.
Sincerely,
