I have experienced severe OCD, and I have come out on the other side of it. It still shows up sometimes, but I've gotten good at handling it by recognizing and resisting compulsions. I've become knowledgeable about it, and I use that knowledge to help others resist compulsions, too.
I am skilled at spotting patterns and the possible intent behind them and proposing modifications that align with the world as I wish it to become. I am compelled by the needs of marginalized users, which enables me to come up with innovative ideas.
I have studied HTML and CSS, and I have utilized these in making websites in Webflow. My experience with page layout in my graphic design courses and databases in Notion has transferred to let me create good-looking, responsive websites in Webflow with relative ease.
Notion, to me, is databases and their relations made intuitive. With it, I'm able to create systems of connected databases with which I can solve a wide variety of problems. I use it extensively in my own life, and I've released templates to support others.
Graphic design as I see it is visuals that convey a specific message. By considering the viewer and the principles that hypothesize what they see, I'm able to create compelling graphics for a variety of purposes.
I am Autistic and have experience supporting Autistic people. I take pride in this identity, and I use it to understand how to support social and sensory needs in diverse situations. This also informs the users I consider in UX projects.
Pride is a value I hope to enable for everyone, but it is also something for myself. It's a practice. It's how I show up in the world, with full integrity as my whole self, as if I am unashamed. Acting that way helps it become true.
I love vector illustration, and Adobe Illustrator enables me to do that. It was the first software I got introduced to when I started my artistic journey, and I'm happy to say I figured out a lot of it quickly.
I have used Adobe Photoshop extensively in multiple classes, and I have tutored such skills for many students. I have used what I know about Photoshop to teach classes in related software, too.
I used Adobe InDesign for a page layout college course, and I'm happy with the products that came out of it.
NeuroQueer Website
This project is in progress. I'm redesigning the website for NeuroQueer.org, an online community of neurodivergent adults that I'm a part of. Take a look at what I've got so far!
